Shaun has practiced law in Raleigh since 1988, and his legal and CPA backgrounds blend to offer clients a unique perspective, whether resolving estate challenges or corporate issues.
Between undergraduate school and Law School, Shaun practiced as an auditor and tax accountant for the international accounting firm Price Waterhouse Coopers in the Dallas, Texas office.
Although Shaun now concentrates primarily on the law practice, he retains his license in North Carolina as a Certified Public Accountant and is uniquely able to advise clients in both fields. In addition to being a licensed attorney and a CPA, Shaun is a Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law and has served on the North Carolina State Bar Legislative Committee. He has successfully argued cases before Federal and State District Courts, the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the Federal Tax Court in Washington, D.C. His dual licensing as an attorney and CPA requires him to attend more than three times the general continuing education required by the North Carolina State Bar for attorneys practicing law in North Carolina
An accomplished speaker and writer, Shaun frequently makes presentations for special groups and trade associations such as The North Carolina Pediatric Society and the Wake County Estate Planning Council. He served as a civilian lobbyist for the successful repeal of the North Carolina Gift and Estate Tax and has published articles in the Texas International Law Journal and the Campbell Law Observer.
All of this, however, is merely a footnote to Shaun’s greatest victory, convincing the effervescent Alison to marry him, and his greatest achievement, his two sons, Seth and Joshua.
Isabella (Bella) Prigge, Paralegal
Our paralegal, Isabella (Bella) Prigge, is originally from Maryland but is now proud to call Raleigh her home. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from North Carolina State University where she majored in Animal Science and minored in Zoology. Bella is excited to start a new chapter in her life after making the switch from Veterinary Medicine to Law.
Bella manages both the daily case load and the overall office administration for our practice. Her daily activities may include drafting legal documents, managing Mr. Ingersoll’s calendar, and communicating directly with the Clerk of Court’s office. Bella is the initial contact and the key communication point for all of our clients. Her problem-solving abilities and readiness to learn enable the office to efficiently represent estate planning, estate administration, tax, and corporate clients. Her background as a Veterinary Assistant has allowed her to handle each client with care and empathy, as well as with exceptional attention to detail.
Bella loves spending time with her family, friends, and her dog Tybee (named after the island in Georgia). When she is not spending time with friends she can be found at the gym or going on walks with Tybee. She loves learning, especially fun facts, and is currently learning Spanish in her free time.
Tracy Allen, Legal Assistant/Paralegal
Tracy is originally from Graham, North Carolina and relocated to the Triangle area in the early 2010s. She comes to our office with a bachelor’s degree in Education from Liberty University in Lynchburg Virginia. After coaching competitive youth sports for over a decade, she decided a career change was in store. She then earned an additional degree from Liberty University – an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies in 2020.
Tracy is working in our office part-time to help support our growing client base. She assists with our daily client interactions from answering the phones, answering email correspondence, and assisting with client files. She is passionate about helping others and enjoys client interactions. Her interpersonal skills and the ability to make others feel at ease make her a great fit for working in estate law and a pleasure to have in the office.
Tracy enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two young children, everything from swimming to chasing fireflies. She also likes to read anything with a mystery plot and appreciates living a healthy lifestyle.
Professional Standards and Firm Precept
Our slogan “Uncompromised Excellence, Personal Service” encapsulates the fundamental standards we set for our office. We focus on achieving truth and integrity, justice and accuracy, creativity and character all on the path to excellence (Phil 4:8). Every case and client receives attention directly from the lead Attorney and the case Paralegal. Nothing is shifted to inexperienced staff or routed through complicated channels. We know that “Character is doing the right thing when no one is watching. Courage is doing the right thing when your peers are doing the opposite, and Compassion is doing the right thing for others even when you don’t have to.”
